Ingredients:
- 2 cups organic steel cut oats (available as gluten free)
- 4 cups water
- Handful of goji berries (optional but delicious)
- Fresh fruit (optional)
Spice options: Recommend organic
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Seeds:
- 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds (best to grind before using)
- 2 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon of ground flax seeds (optional)
Directions:
- Soak the steel cut oats in water overnight (this helps remove the phytic acid and increase nutrient absorption)
- Rinse the oatmeal through a strainer and remove the soaked water
- Add soaked oats to a large pot (that has a lid)
- Add water and spices
- Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat
- Add goji berries
- Cook covered for about 10 minutes
- Add your seeds and fresh fruit (optional)

I like to sweeten the oatmeal with raw organic honey and put some sliced bananas on top. 聽If you have any issues with blood sugar, I would omit the fruit and use stevia to sweeten. The oatmeal can be refrigerated and used for up to 5 days. Just add an equal amount of water as you have oatmeal then mix, and reheat it on the stove.聽 Enjoy!
